Imperial forces at the Komen Race for the Cure in Wichita.

Post by TK-1161 Curt »

Imperial Stormtroopers, a Biker Scout, a TIE Fighter Pilot and a Mandalorian Merc showed the crowd of the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure in Wichita, that the Empire is fighting against Breast Cancer!
On September 26, 2009, our troops were welcomed with excited smiles and a lot of hugs to the gathering at Town East Square mall today. Organizers were so happy to see the Imperial presence that we were announced several times from the stage of our arrival. Our troops posed for pictures with kids of all ages, survivors, organizers as well as members of the Wichita Fire Dept, Wichita Police Dept, WSU Mascot and State Troopers Mascot and our Biker Scout even managed to acquire the Simon Mall Security Transportation temporarily!
Both the Imperial Troops and Mandalorians answered recruitment questions and spotted several younglings that will have a bright future in the Empire!
Our troops were approached about attending the Kid's Zoobilee at the Sedgwick County Zoo in June, and by the President of Susan G Komen and the Mascot manager asking us to return to Race for the Cure in 2010.
Imperial Troops TK 7236 and TI 3762 were shown on Channel 12 News in the coverage of the Race. We have also found "lost" Stormtrooper Rob, a resident of Wichita, which trooped with us for the event. The nearby Chinese Buffet was inspected by the Emperors’ forces while in armor which helped to replenish their strength before returning to their designated posts patrolling Kansas.

Personnel in attendance were: Bill Holmes, Steven Blowers, Kerry Ellison, Justin Lutton, Austin Landreth, Phillip Harley, and our new found brother Rob, as well as our wonderful handlers and photographers Pam and Karissa and our Survivor Shirley Flexer.
