Reading is fun in Wichita with Vader's Fist

Post by TK-1161 Curt »

Sat Oct 17th, 2009 Lord Vader dispatched a small detachment of Stormtroopers to Barnes & Noble @1920 N Rock Rd in Wichita, Kansas to help the Public Library raise funds and celebrate the release of the new Star Wars novel Death Troopers.

The troops patrolled the vicinity and kept the peace while Fairy Tale Princess Bonnie Bing had children's story time, Opera students from WSU, and Laura Black and students of the Wichita Symphony performed, and Talks with Jim Erickson and Edgar Allen Poe Readings by Lael Ewy amd Dick Welsbacher went smoothly.

Our troops patrolled the aisles looking for rebel sympathizers and those 2 droids we've been looking for all these yrs, often stopping for photos with loyal Imperial citizens. We also gave the Garda Armored Truck an Imperial Escort. We had a minor issue with coordinates, which our troops finally figured out using the Star Wars Atlas provided by Barns & Noble.........and as a side note, TK-7236 was right, we shouldn't have taken that left at Dantooine!

The staff at Barns and Noble were so pleased to have the Empire and Mandalorians present, that we have be asked to return possibly every month to continue to encourage younglings to read, let their imaginations soar, and one day to join the Empire themselves!

Troops in attendance: Jennifer Angel, Michael Angel, Kerry Ellison and jr trooper Austin Landreth, as well as Mandalorian Merc Philip Harley and wrangler Pam Alquest.
