Explorers Make Great Strides in Columbia

April 28th, 2007 will be a day long remembered. It was the day the Empire first appeared in the central Missouri area. With a force of troopers and tusken raiders, some 15 strong, they descended on the Stephens Lake Park to promote the Great Strides Walk-a-thon for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. This was the first event for the garrison in the Columbia/Jefferson City area and the second annual charity event for the CFF. The organizer of the event, Katie Todd, expressed her thanks for the arrival of the troops and is excited about the garrison’s participation with the Foundations future events. Many thanks go out to the members of the Garrison for the long miles traveled to attend the event and a big thank you goes to the following 70th Explorers who attended this event: Chris Adams (TK-8100), Bernadette Adams (ID-8101), Curt Stanfill (TK-1161), John Hodges (TK-4284), Tony Pierce (DZ-6994), Rhonda Brown (TB-1165), Andy McCormick (TK-2166), Trenton Tobin (DZ-9010) and Chris Moody (TK-394). Read more about this exciting event in an article published in The Columbia Tribune.
