WWII Weekend

Post by Dinadin TK-5972 »

Ok I admit this is nothing Star Wars or Sci Fi related, but I cann't think of a better place to post it. This a WWII reenactment held at Jefferson Barracks in St. Louis. From what I was told the other night there is going to be a huge turn out of reenactors. From the 14th Armored group 2 or 3 Stuart Tanks, 3 halftracks, 2 X 37mm cannons, one 57 mm cannon, one M-20 armored car, a scout car, along with jeeps and trucks. There will also be other units with other vehicles with at least two more halftrack. Rumor has that one of the Replica Tiger tanks from Saving Private Ryan will be there also. There will be two battles on Saturday and one on Sunday. This event will be held on April 25th - 27th. I will be there with my halftrack and I will probably be in the battles also. Unless I am video taping it or doing both. If you are interested in WWII history or military history in general you maybe interested in this.

Here is a link with more information.

Also I am pretty sure this is a free event.

Now that is something I would love to see. I do Civil War reinacting, but I've never seen a WWII one. Thanks for the info!

Oh, don't worry. I'm a friendly Yankee; just dont go pointin that Enfield or Springfield at me.

I've met alot of people that reinact the southern side and everyone of them have been the nicest, friendliest people I have ever met.

I'm a southern private, and a northern private, we do both sides.

"For Lincoln!"
"Get the pistols!" (Trips self in struggle between two personalities)
And yes, I am trigger happy, if I get you no offense.
(Now I won't be able to shoot without guilt  )

I wish they were doing this on a different weekend. Since I will be trooping at Cape ComiCon this weekend I am going to miss this. I would have liked to have seen this. Keep us informed if they do anything like it again. :)

Actually that .50 was going off, but it is only a gas gun. I am working on getting a gas gun set up like. I would like to have a real .50 but that is an extremely expensive toy to play with. I may eventually get a real one, but for now I will settle for a gas gun.

Actually if you really want a tank, the guy that sold me my halftrack, is selling one of his 3 Stuarts.
