Anovos TK ANH Calves
I love this armor but I hate the Velcro seams on the calf sections.
I saw a comment on how some folks are replacing this with Bra Hooks and White Elastic.
Anyone here have experience with this modification?
Thanks.
Reich

Did you check over on whitearmor.net? I can't remember who has it in the GWS, I'm pretty sure that everyone that I know (or can remember) went the velcro route. UKWrait has a thread up on that website (https://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/ ... ent-470387) that should help clarify.
Not sure if you had checked that out yet or not.

Yep saw that thread, I'm going to attempt it. I was just wondering if anyone local had done it yet?

Re: Anovos TK ANH Calves
I have also wondered how they would hold up long term with the hook and loop since the Anovos armor is a little thinner than some of the other makers' armor.

Re: Anovos TK ANH Calves
That is my biggest concern. Drilling the holes and If those holes would crack under pressure once you apply the hooks.
Maybe I can replace the full strip of Velcro that comes with the armor into 3 smaller sections or tabs, Might be easier than risking the holes and should be easier to put on.
I'll have to think on it.

Re: Anovos TK ANH Calves
Yeah that is mine too. I guess it just depends on how evenly you spread the weight amongst those clips.
I just used some industrial strength outdoor white velcro (actual Velcro brand) and stuck it on there and it hasn't moved since then. I can't remember if I glued them down though, I don't think I did though. That Anovos velcro is crap compared to the actual Velcro brand stuff. I only used the Anovos strapping and velcro if it was stitched to the elastic or webbing and any velcro that was glued on by Anovos I split apart and CA glued or E6000'd them together and it made it perfect.

Re: Anovos TK ANH Calves
Yeah I think I'll just swap out the Anovos strips for better Velcro sections and see how that works first before drilling holes.

Re: Anovos TK ANH Calves
I have a set of AP and my shins never stay closed for long using Velcro so I end up using white duct tape to hold them shut. The actors in the movies used white gaffers tape so I do too! Hahahaha!
