Hey guys (and girls!),
Thanks for the warm welcome. It took me a while to get it all together but at last I have joined the club! Thanks for the invited to the armor party Chris and even though I didn't have any armor at the time to fix / adjust, you guys were a great help in letting me see the armor up close and understand more about how the whole thing comes together. Sometimes just knowing more is a great start when you know next to nothing!
I would love to try to go trooping sometime soon, but weekend-long events won't work for me since I work every Sunday. I can pull of stuff on Saturdays or weeknights. I'll keep my eyes on the forums for up coming events that I can go to. And hey, if y'all are planning to have another armor party again in the St. Louis area, I'd love to come. Heck, I could even host it - my kids would get a kick out of a gang of troopers in their living room!
Anything else I need to know to get "up to speed" as it were? One thing I want to do is get on the list for the 501st trading cards - that's the big thing that pulled me into this to begin with. But if there is anything else I need to do or be aware of as a member of the Legion, well, just let me know! Thanks all!
Rob

Hey Rob,
Most troops are single day events (just a few hours). The only weekend long troops are usually conventions or the occasional Rose Parade. And if it's that important, I ask off from work.
There's an armor party next weekend in Jefferson City, if you check the forums. Otherwise I was thinking of having another one sometime in the spring.
In addition to that, I was talking about having a Firefly and/or Battlestar party to get people like Pajama Boy up to speed on the coolness of modern sci-fi. Eric's never seen either of those, and we need to get him hooked.
I know nothing for sure, but the next set of trading cards should start taking payments fairly soon I would guess. There's a lot of people that want in, though, so it may be a struggle to get a spot. I guess we'll see.
See ya soon!
