70th Explorers Garrison: Forums

On August 11th, the 70th Explorers were invited to the 4th annual "Dukesday" held in collaboration with the "Super Summer Car Cruise" in Branson, Missouri. It was a fun weekend for both troopers and spectators. The crowd was treated to Music, Hot Rods, Celebrities, and of course, the 501st Legion.

Reports have even come in that Sheriff Rosco P. Coltrane...aka....James Best, from THE DUKES OF HAZZARD had "cuffed and stuffed" those "no good Imperials". All joking aside, Mr. Best was very pleased with the variety of costumes that appeared with him over the weekend,...pleased enough that he mentioned the troopers on his website included with a pic or two.

Later that afternoon, all of the troopers were treated to Hazzard County style rides in a General Lee, kicking up dirt like they were running from a Star Destroyer!

When midnight rolled around, some of the garrison members cruised with style in the annual parade...following about a half dozen General Lee's, Rosco's patrol car, Daisy Duke's Jeep, KITT from Knight Rider, and about 500 MORE hot rod's.

Despite the TERRIBLE heat of the weekend, everyone pulled through with flying colors and made this troop one for the books.
