the only requirement is they have to be flat soled, and the soles are white. the shoes dallas used are good. you can also use some of the D/C or Vans skate shoes. they are usualy flat soled as well.

Wal-mart has stopped selling the shoes that I used for my build. These are some other options. New Balance Men's Model 811 Walking Shoe White / Nike Air Force 1 Low – Mens White Sports Shoes / Puma Roma walking shoe white.

The Nike Air Force 1 is just like the Starter brand shoe that I picked up at Wal-mart. I could be wrong about the Starter shoe at Wal-mart but I have not seen it for weeks now. The only thing with the Air Force 1 is that you will have to remove the logo from the sole of the shoe on it's side.

Good hunting and keep us posted of your progress.

Full time lids? Sounds good to me. :D With the first one out of the way all the others should be a breeze! :grinno: I'm almost tempted to put this lid on a shelf and not troop it. :stormtrooper:

But wait until you put it on and see how people react to it while your trooping... that will end those thoughts. :D

Updated work on the bucket, I installed the screens in the teeth and the annunciators.

First I drilled threw the bucket from the front after finding center placement. Then I installed the annunciators by putting a screw threw the bucket form the back of the inside. Ah yes, you ask what happend to the screens for the annunciators that I posted earlier. They did not work out so I used what I had for now!

I glued in the screens for the inside of the bucket with E6000 adhesive. Take notice of the screw heads for the annunciators below the screen.

The only thing left to do is install the lense and weather it. I will try to get to he lense today.

Until the next time, good trooping to you all!

Bucket update:

I used some spare stuff around the house for my lense install.
Image

What am I doing you might ask? Well I found another member on the forum that made his lense removable and I liked the idea so I asked permission to use it. Normally the lense is glued in but for the sake of future scratches or breakage I made it removable for ease of replacement. I glued in a few stops above the brow line to snap the lense in place and around the lense I installed tabs to slide the lense in behind. It worked great! No problems at all.

I made a template for my lense first out of poster board.
Image

Then I added about 1/4" to a 1/2" of extra edging to it as seen in the photo above.

Then I transferred it to the lense shield material I bought and cut it out with aviation sheers.
Image

This is it after adding glue and installing it in to the bucket.

So there you have it from start to finish.

Jon: With the first one out of the way a second one would be easy. :D

I found an item that I think will work great inside the bucket for support. If it works I'll post it. It's amazing what you can find on line! :D

After my recent build I found myself looking for a place to store my newly finished clone bucket. So I built a few bucket stands.
I am looking to see if there is any interest for bucket display stands with in this forum. I am not selling anything as of yet or have anything for sale. However if I had enough interest then I would make some more of the items in question. I just finished them today so I have not painted them as of yet.
