yep, i will be attempting to build a darth malgus suit from the up coming game, the old republic. after seeing some things at comic con, and getting my mind racing, i have decided to start this one. he has been in the planning stages for months now, so i decided to proceed. here are a few teaser shots to get your juices flowing!
do i decided to start with the resperator first, and here is where it sits now. i started with cardboard, then i will fiberglass over that and then bondo my details. kinda like pepakura, but different.
enjoy!

i kept putting it off. it looks like i can use the vader body suit and boots for the base costume. im very suprised no one else has tackled this costume yet. its very cool, and seems like it will be very mobile, unlike vader.

You are a costume machine, Jon.
Can't wait to see how this turns out. I'm going to experiment with a couple mediums to see if it helps reduce the sanding duration of these type of props (paper). Gelcoat is one solution, but I have a couple others I want to try out. I hate sanding. LOL

ok, so i picked Darth Malgus back up today and after looking at my referance pics i noticed the front of the resperator was too wide at the base. so i cut it, and added new cardboard in the voids. fiberglass is curing on it now! it looks much better being narrow.
