Children with Congenital Heart Defects Family Breakfast

Members of the 501st Legion, Rebel Legion and The Dark Empire attended the Children with Congenital Heart Defects Family Breakfast on October 27th, 2013 at the Platte County South YMCA. CHD Families was celebrating 10 years as a group with a pancake breakfast and kid-themed silent auction. This non-profit organization provides comfort and support to KC area families affected by congenital heart defects. One of their main programs is “Blankets from the Heart” which are handmade blankets for cardiac kids undergoing cardiac surgery at Children’s Mercy Hospital. Those in attendance included Jenni Bennett (Tusken Raider), Bruce Cottingham (Darth Nihilus), Rich Heffernan (Grand Admiral), Laura Wootan (TK), William C Holmes (Kir Kanos), Kevin Randall Austin (Jedi), Nick Letcher (Jawa and handler), and Darryl Woods (LFL Artist).
