70th Explorers in 2007 Tournament of Roses Parade

Star Wars fans from around the world are gearing up for this year's highly anticipated 2007 Rose Bowl Parade which will feature none other than Star Wars creator, George Lucas, as Grand Marshal. "As Grand Marshal, George Lucas will ride in the 118th Rose Parade in front of a worldwide television audience, and toss the coin before the 93rd Rose Bowl Game on January 1, 2007." -http://www.tournamentofroses.com
This year's Rose Bowl Parade, themed Our Good Nature, will include a "Star Wars Spectacular" with two Star Wars floats representing the planets of Naboo and Endor, a marching 501st Legion unit of 200 select members, and selected characters from the Rebel Legion. The world famous Grambling State University Tiger Marching Band will be providing Star Wars themed music. This year's Star Wars parade entries help to kick off the 30th anniversary of the original release of the movie.
Over 800 members from the 501st Legion, world-wide, submitted marching audition videos to Lucasfilm to be reviewed and then anxiously waited to hear if they made the cut. Representing the 70th Explorers Garrison, which covers the areas of Kansas and Missouri, are Aaron Newell/TK080 of Olathe, Rhonda Brown/TB1165 of Blue Springs, and Curt Stanfill/TK1161 of St. Louis.
