Re: Planet ComiCon moving to Bartle Hall

For those of you at CVI and saw how the 501st and Droid Builders had display rooms filled with props and photo op backdrops in addition to their tables, and the Rebel Legion and Mercs had large set/table areas in the main hall... I would hope that while I doubt the local groups individually could fi...

Re: Clone Wars style gauntlets

I don't have detail in the foam, I made it a little small so the foam shape could be rough and fill in imperfections and worry about finishing on the cover material. And the only detail will be the seam from the elbow and arm, and that's not this piece.

Re: A new milestone...

So am I the Garrison's first 5-digit number? In fact you are! I had to change our database to make room for your extra digit, so you're officially beta testing the new code. Lemme know if anything looks wonky on the 70th web site where your number is concerned. No problems with the ID that I've see...

Re: Clone Wars style gauntlets

Yeah, I've read that you don't want to use the foam 'plain'. And from building the temple photo set I learned that spray paint and the foam don't mix, but latex paint is good. Glad to know that Bondo will do the same, I already have some on hand so was considering starting there for filling in some ...

Clone Wars style gauntlets

A local workshop is doing a vacforming class at the end of this month, and I wanted to go to learn, but maybe do something with some costume use right off the bat too. so I'm going to start messing with making the bucks for Clone Wars style Jedi gauntlets... I have a bunch of the pink insuation foam...

Re: Google Fiber

Well techmically, they do have a free internet service, but it is at the standard speeds for broadband and it has a #00 one time construction fee, or you can make 12 $25 monthly payments, but they advertise it as "free..." If you pay $25/month or more now for Cable Internet or DSL, there ...

Re: Tapatalk: mobile app for forums

I'll add a +1 plug for this app. It's the best mobile experience I've had on a PHP forum, and in some ways I like it better than on the desktop :)

Local AT-ST?

Hey, just wondering if we have any local AT-ST drivers? From the roster page it looks like one but I can't put it to a profile on the boards here (Stephen ;) ). Anyway, the CRL has some wiggle room "The helmet is to be painted in Grey, Grey-Green or Olive tone", and the detachment boards h...

Is this like the 'foamies' sheets?

Re: Helmet Padding

I use the bump cap liners. Not the ones like in a hard hat with the big knob in the back these are smaller. They let more air around your head and are cooler than foam and you can hot glue them in just a few minutes. Just an idea. something like that is what I use for my RFT helmet, but there's not...

Re: Helmet Padding

Joanne fabric has green foam padding. You can also use pipe insulation or weather stripping foam from the hardware store....Just don't get the fiberglass LOL I'm probalby making a Jo-Ann's run Friday anyway, so that should work. I have the pipe insuation stuff, but out of curiosity how do others us...

Helmet Padding

So, I need some *local* advice on where to find some padding for the inside of a helmet. I'm thinking just some kind of foam padding, not a helmet liner or anything like that. And I'm looking local (not online) because I want something I can pick up this week and have installed before PCC this weeke...
