Re: Wally's Astromech

You know what they say once you go R2 you never go back  TMI, Wally, TMI... :P I am glad you now have a suitable solution in keeping R2's dome looking good. That's something I feel I would always be paranoid about if I got into the droid-making mood - - and I think I have enough fun watching o...

New documentary: "The People vs. George Lucas"

The People vs. George Lucas

This looks to be an interesting film, and one that looks at things about the six films that some of us have had long discussions over. Hopefully it will be released so that more people can take a look at it.

Re: Imperial Officer-to-be

Thanks for all of the info, Curt. :) I'll see what I can find around here as far as chalk holders, as I had pretty much ruled out using the correct-looking dosimeters because of their rarity. I talked to VaderDave recently (whom I know from the FISD) and he's booked solid, but he gave me the name of...

Re: Imperial Officer-to-be

It does help, Chris, thanks! I feel that I'm a bit out of my depth after dealing with hard plastic for so long, so the assistance is appreciated. I've already ordered from Elvis Trooper and will be headed over to Jo-Anne's to look at cloth and find the McCall Civil War pattern, and I will be sure to...

Re: Imperial Officer-to-be

Heck yeah. Although my reasoning does dovetail nicely into the urge to work on another costume!

Imperial Officer-to-be

I've decided to give myself a well-earned promotion and join the officer corps. ;) I like the idea of having a costume to wear that doesn't involve lugging around large armor boxes, doesn't take a long time to put on, and yet still looks sharp if done right. I've already joined the 501st Officer Cor...

Re: Wally's Astromech

That is awesome, Wally! I've talked some with one of our resident R2 specialists, Gary, and have at least a basic understanding of how much time and trouble building an astromech can be and know I'll never have the time and patience to build one of my own. Your droid looks fantastic so far - maybe w...

Re: Transferring from TK to TD

Although I never did finish my TD (sold the armor to finance my clone), I did spend a lot of time researching sandtroopers in order to try and get the details down. Your list is pretty inclusive, plus I know you've taken care of some additional details which you didn't list. The only things I can th...
