Re: If I had enough money

You know there are things like that you can build for less than a grand. http://reprap.org/bin/view/Main/WebHome http://www.fabathome.org/wiki/index.php?title=Main_Page http://www.makerbot.com/ The homebuilt things aren't up to the same resolution and I don't think they have the removable support ei...

Re: Wally's Astromech

The controller system is the Vex 75Hz. I originally wanted to get a Futaba 2.4GHz 10 channel set-up but found a better deal when the hobby took another victim and someone dropped out. The Vex is great and I can actually upgrade it to a new Wifi set up they offer. I will probably do that much later ...

Re: Pep Resource Library-Hellfast's Bomb-Diggity-Giggity-thread

I'm fairly interested in that too. Are you planning on posting links to them or in some way making it easy for us all to get them? I've only stopped by The Dented Helmet a few times, but I've seen some of them floating around there. I didn't dig into it too deeply, the last time I was there it looke...

Re: Welcome our 101st member - Andy Shimamoto TC 2265

Thanks for the warm welcome. I have spent so much time over on the Clone forums I'm really behind over here. Guess I've got even more catching up to do.

What's next? When they took the third amendment I did not complain because I like bringing soldiers home. Did you realize that prohabition was the 18th amendment it was repealed with the 21st amendment. there were only two amendments to the constitution where the nation was alcohol free. The 2...

Is your a thurston james? I looked and toyed around with the idea of building one of those but I was intimidated by the heating element. Yes it's a Thurston James design with the added design to fold it over. I got that idea over on TK560's vaccum forming discussion forum. I'd recommend joining it ...

Nice looking machine. I'm having trouble picking out all the details though. It looks like an over-under. I'm in the same boat. I made my vac former and I don't know what to do with it yet. The test pulls seem to work well. I'm trying my hand at sculpting right now to see if I can make some good mol...

Is that what this suff is? I thought I asked for Plasticine not Plasique. It's a simple slip of the tounge, could've happened to anyone. They really shouldn't sell it in the same section of the arts and crafts store. That's just asking for confusion. Well as long as I've got it I might as well make ...

Ep2 helmet sculpt in progress

I've wanted to learn the skills required to make armor. So the first thing I choose to make is an episode 2 clone trooper helmet. It's difficult to do. I'm learning a lot from the attempt and that was really the goal. I thought I'd post this here and get some feedback. Progress is slow, but here are...

Isn't that what they call a CNC machine????? Wouldn't THAT be nice to own... Yes, it would. I've been thinking about building one for a while. Purchasing one is usually around 5 figures. You can build some for much less. There are a few good how to's on really cheap CNC machines. http://www.engadge...

Good luck to both of you. I toyed with the idea of building R2 for years. I met the "droid you are looking for" at Archon a few years back. I didn't catch his name though. I was incredibly impressed by the quality of the parts he used in it. I found it very discouraging actually. I realize...

Looks like a good plan. Let me know if you need any help. I would highly recommend that you have your plan for step 4 prepared before you begin work on step 2. You might be interested in this for step 3: http://www.mini-box.com/BoomPC-2-Car-PC-Barebone-Intel?sc=8&category=101 1.2Ghz computer tha...

Re: New Long term project T3M4

(Yes I am aware of the R2 builders group. I was just wondering if there was anybody in our group or local to KC that I could talk to and get advice from) I'm sorry I hadn't been reading the forums for a while. Work's been busy. I've built a robot from scratch before. I toyed with building R2 myself...
