July 4/ lend a helmet/gun, Please?

Post by trooper_J »

I'm Jason from Gardner, KS and am going to join the 70th as soon as I get my costume done. While i do admit that im not with the 501st yet, i have most of a working suit completed - except for the helmet, and the lack of a prop-blaster.

i was wondering if anyone who was also marching in the Lenexa parade would be kind enough to lend me a helmet and blaster for the day/ span of the event.

you can get by with a repainted hasbro blaster. They are about $20.00 at Walmart plus spray paint!

Actually the Clone Blasters at Walmart or Target are black now... At least last time I bought mine. And it still looks like the old white E-11 stormtrooper they used to make.

Walmart & ToysRus dont have them..... like, at all - despite what their websites tend to indicate.

heres the wal-mart site of it http://www.walmart.com/catalog/product. ... id=5734128

in store? SOL

Toys R us? same answer

Target? had them, emphasis on 'had'

online? sure, if you want to wait 2 weeks or more, unless you pay more for turbo shipping. how much more? already strapped for cash and i dont care to find out.

given that im already limited to in-city/ immediate area events (no car of my own), i really dont have time to wait around when theres an event i ACTUALLY CAN attend going on in a week, and my costume is mostly done to a semi-working status, with me trying to get as much finished within said week, and resources end up to be sorely lacking when actually investigated. :x

sorry about the rant, but it seems that when i finally do find a resource that i can afford/ is available within the time limit, i get abit hyped ..... and then i find out that resources are lacking in either time or availability, usually the latter when cost is within my range.

If you are looking for a Screen accurate TK bucket, be prepared to pay about as much as you paid for your armor. You got a Kit with no helmet right???? Try around 350 - 400 bucks. Also If you do get a Screen accurate bucket, ask for help to put it together.

Oh and no offense to you but I do not know anyone who would lend out a screen accurate bucket......the risk of dropping it or damaging it and it not being yours????? Not worth it.

you should still probably come to see what is going on and that way you can look at helmets up close and what not. from my experience you learn more just by watching other people.
