caboots biker scout boots

Post by TK2774 »

I have heard that the 501st won't recognize the caboots biker scout boots as part of the biker scout outfit, if so why? I don't see much difference between the two look wise. If caboots has a license to make them, that must mean that Lucas must be okay with it, and if he is okay with it to represent the Star Wars universe why wouldn't the 501st be okay with it. If it is acceptable to have the boots, you can disregard this post.

I moved this post to the costuming tips and hints as this relates to Star Wars costuming.

I'm not a biker scout guru, so I wouldn't have a straight answer for ya. It may be that modified versions of the caboots are acceptable. I know the clone caboots walk a fine line unless they're modified

My understanding was they were okay for a regular biker scout, but not for a lancer (i.e. deployed). The lancer scout costumes have a higher level of detail necessary.

That was the last I heard, but Rhonda would know more up to date information.

Also, the last time I checked with caboots, there were no longer making the biker scout boots. Its still on their web-site, but its not available for order.

I just finishing talking with caboots. According to the guy on the phone, he says they are now carrying the scout boots again, so I stand corrected.

I ordered a set for my wife. We will see what happens.
