TK bucket choices

Post by TK-1161 Curt »

I think I am ready to upgrade the old FX bucket to another buck. Anyone have any of the other buckets out there and why do you like it?

Right now I am looking at an RT-mod or a ANH2.

Well Curt, I think you already know my answer. ;) However, I also remember that you did not think that either the AP or TE2 helmets were right for you. I'll still be bringing the AP with me for the Planet Comicon troop, and perhaps my TE2 will be finished by then, too.

I really like both because of their size relative to the armor - no more FX bobble-head! I can wear them with my glasses on and still have room for at least a sound system (ROM/FX installed into the AP). I don't know if the Trooper Comm will fit because I haven't received mine yet. It looks like I could still have room for a fan or two if I need one.

Having said all that I really like the RT bucket - I was seriously thinking about picking up an armor set from him. Unfortunately it's going to be difficult to obtain one as RT is still waiting on parts to fix his vacu-form machine. I don't know much at all about the ANHv2..not sure if I've even seen one.

What are you doin with the old bucket? If it is assembled with everything (minus the electronics of course), I could save myself some money (I found a good deal, I think  ).

The old bucket will go on a shelf for sentimental reasons. Since it was the first one I built and has served me so well, it will be retired in a place of honor. :stormtrooper:

Just FYI. The RT mods are basically copies of TE helmets. I prefer TE, TE2 or Gino helmets. The Gino is dang near impossible to find and will cost you a small fortune. I had one and like an idiot, sold it. The APs are good and if you are squeamish about using a styrene bucket. (The TEs and Gino's are.) then it's a good deal because it is ABS.

Aren't the TE adn TE2 small? I have a big melon and I also want to wear my glasses under it along with fans and a voice amp that I have.

They are smaller but with some creativity all of the stuff can be placed in them. The biggest difference is that you pretty much have to put the helmet on sideways and then turn it once it is on. At one time they were making a version of the speaker system to fit the screen used ones. Skullworks if I remember right. Hope that helps.

I will definitely vouch for the tight fit in the TE2 helmet. It looks nice though.
