Here is some progress from this weekend. Got the new goggles painted and the details added. Started assembling the backpack from the top down. I started with the tanks and scratch built the assembly that holds them. I also added the neck seal nozzels. It's probably not going to be finished for Planet Comicon, sadly. I REALLY wanted to debut it there this year. Budgetary concerns are holding certain parts of it back. I keep working on the parts that I can. Here are the pics:

I stayed at home today with a sick little girl. While she was watching the Flintstones and The Jetsons, I slipped out to the work bench and crafted the "COLD GUN"! The triple LED light in the barrel is activated by pulling the trigger. It should be pretty cool for pictures. (It is bright enough that my dog chases gleam across the floor!) It still needs some details and the finished paint job, but what do you think?

Looks friggin awesome is what I'd say. Are you using the high intensity LEDS? Looks like it. That's what we use on the Iron Man stuff.

Nice job. This stuff looks really sweet. Makes me wish I had kept the meter case I tossed in the trash about six months ago. lol

The LED's that I used for the gun are scabbed out of a $1.00 flashlight that I bought at the Dollar Tree, LOL. They are very intense, but honestly I have no idea what type they are.

Well, while you were all out having fun at Planet Comicon, I sat down at my work bench and made quite a bit of headway on my backpack, and nearly finished the cold gun. Here are some more pics for this pic heavy thread!
This is the fully detailed cold gun with it's first coat of silver metallic:

Here it is with the blue accents and the "dirty" added. (I figure that Freeze probably gets a little dirty living on the lamb and constantly getting his butt kicked by the Batman.)

And here is the backpack nearly all assembled. You'll note that I took quite a bit of artistic liberty with it while still following the figure as much as possible. I have a "Wayne Industries" gauge to add and some more details before painting, but it's progress...

I also started sculpting the molds for the shoulder armor. The sanding made quite the mess, so I didn't get any pictures yet. More to come soon!

Thanks to Major Love, I now have a 96cm strip of Blue LED's for the neck seal. That's one LED per centimeter. It is a flexible strip that I am mounting in the neck seal so that the LED's project upwards into the dome. This looks pretty sweet as it illuminates the dome and throws some cool blue on my entire head. I will post pics as soon as I get it mounted and get a suitable 12v power supply to light them up. (I also have to mount the fan in the back of the neck seal for ventilation under the dome.

I have a foam buck already fashioned for the shoulder armor that requires just a little more sanding. Pics soon.

Also need to get started on my Nora Fries snowglobe.

Still have a Looong way to go.... *sigh* :twitch:

OK well, I couldn't stand the suspense anymore for my primary lighting. So, I took one of my TK helmet battery packs and did a little temporary soldering for the lights and fan. (mounted in the back of the neck seal.) The difference between the 9v battery and my 9.6v battery pack was astounding. Keep in mind that the LED's for the neck seal are rated for 12v. (What I will eventually run them on.) and that the neck seal has not been painted yet. You will note that there is a lot of glow coming through the neck itself. Paint should cure that particular issue.

Here are some pics:
