Imperial Officer Pants?

Post by TrooperKerry »

I have a couple of people that were at Chronicles Convention and wanting to join the 70th, asking about the Imperial Officer Pants. The forum they read was unclear if the pants were military style or straight leg. This being an area I know little about, I'm opening it up to you that are more experienced. They have the pattern and are wanting to buy fabric this weekend..........so they need to know just how much to get to make the pants acceptable.

It looks as if both styles qualify....so is it a matter of rank? Crewman vs Officer etc?

Thanks everyone

I know very little about the officer uniforms, but I want to say they have that military flare to them at the sides. I think the old civil war pattern is what they're after.?.? I want to say it was a McCalls pattern or something?? I'm just not all that positive. Someone can correct me if I'm wrong as I'm totally not sure....obviously.

The measurements can be figured using the pattern at that point. Hopefully that was somewhat helpful.

Thanks Chris, I'll pass it along. Hopefully we'll have a couple new Imperial Personnel here in Wichita soon.........I know the husband wants to do a TK eventually, and the wife is wanting to work on a SL.

Pants:
- Fabric should be a medium weight suiting material exactly matching the tunic and hat. Gabardine style weave is most accurate.
- Jodhpurs breeches are canon, with semi-stiff flares to the hip/thigh area.
- Pockets are acceptable, though they should not be visible with the tunic on.
- There are no noticeable cuffs on the pants.

The McCall's pattern that most people use is a M4745 Cival War costume that you modify to work. The biggest thing about the pants is adding the flares on the sides.
