Imperial Knights?

Post by gandalfbmg »

So, what's the relationship between the Imperial Knight costume from Star Wars Legacy comics and the 501st? I've heard both they won't be accepted by the 501st because they're not bad and might even become RL (which they are not yet to my knowledge, and I'd know), and then that they're part of the Sovereign Protectors detachment (with the imperial guards)... Do any of you guys here know/follow this? I've always like the costume and if I ever get around to it would like to know where to go...

The working definition to qualify characters for the 501st has been LFL referencible Villains--characters that would mean harm onto heros--from the SW Universe.
Not to provoke a flame war or anything, but using that same logic, and seeing as the clone troopers of Episode II were under the control of the Jedi and the Republic (who were still at that time - the "GOOD guys"), it just makes me wonder how Episode II costumes are permissable in the 501st then. Not like it really matters to me, as I'm more of an Episode V kind of trooper myself... but it does make me a bit curious. :D

I think the episode 2 troopers still had order 66 "programmed" into them waiting. they were sleeper agents of Palpatine from the beginning.

Right now the official 501st stance on the knights is that not enough is known to determine their good/evil allegiance. That being said I think it's a cool looking costume and would like to see someone make it.

hmm... "Sleeper Agents"... never thought of them that way... I like that response ! :D

Yes, it is a cool looking outfit. Would be neat to see someone sporting that at a convention. ;)

I kind of like the 'jedi in armor' look, obviously, and honestly the Imperial Knight is my favorite design as of yet. Not that I'll be able to do it anytime soon, but I figure I should be on the look for supplies just in case...

This is one costume I would love to do. Armor with no helmet...a win-win for me.

Now...if I could just find the time to and money to sculpt and glass the armor, I'd be all set

Stupid thing is...I have a mannequin to sculpt on. Have the sculpting tools. Done sculpting before. I have a good understanding of glassing. Even have a garage to do sculpting/glassing in.

I'm just too cheap to buy more clay to do such a big sculpt or the silicone for the mold.

Maybe when the weather gets warmer and I get some bills caught up from the holidays...

It's the Jedi concept art from Star Wars: The Old Republic. Click out the Deceived Cinematic Trailer, http://www.swtor.com/media/trailers/dec ... ic-trailer, it will give you a better idea!

Maybe later in the spring/summer, I'll be able to consider investing in such a venture... ;)
