The homebuilt things aren't up to the same resolution and I don't think they have the removable support either. I'm personally waiting for those improvements before I add that functionality to my homebuilt CNC machine.
Of course some of the professional systems are cheaper and still really nice. The low end Dimension 3D printer looks like it's $15k

i know.... you two could become roomies and then you will have enough to buy one!!! of course the whole springfield/kansas city thing would have to be worked out.......... and some people wonder why i am not married, it makes it simpler when you don't have to ask permission to buy something

Man I too want a 3D printer! Makes me wish I would of continued with Cadd Classes in college!
And from some of the replies I've seen in this thread it sounds like some people have good blackmail photos.
