Helmet mods

Post by mrivorey »

What mods has everyone done to their buckets? In particular, what kind of ventilation have you installed and where? Also what kind of voice amp do you have and where is it? And what do you have in your bucket that no one else does?

I filed out the vents in the frown recently and put fans pulling air in under the new holes. I put speakers into my aerators and put an amp and hyperdyne board in the big gaps inside just to the side of the aerators. Black tubing keeps the wiring spagetti under control.

What am I missing? What are some cool mods I've yet to think of? Post pics of your bucket guts if you have any.

You should look into installing a SpyEar setup. You can buy them pretty cheap in the toy department and it works wonders when speaking to small children.

Is that like a microphone outside the helmet so I can hear what's going on?

Type "Spy ear" in Google or even Ebay and you'll see a good description. Usually around $4 or $5. :D

Yes. Charley has one in his helmet and it's cool! You mount the mic in the frown behind the mesh and mount a single headphone near your ear and you can actually hear people talking across the room. I will be installing one in my helmet soon.
