Polishing Armor

So, I'm finishing up my TIE helmet, but managed to spill CA glue on the front of the face. I know that there's a CA stain on one of the movie-used props, but I'd rather have it shine.

I've already sanded off the glue with very fine sandpaper, and used a scratch remover, so it's pretty smooth, just dull dark grey rather than shiny black.

What's everyone doing for this sort of thing? Painting the parts?

Did you ever find out anything. I used goof off (acetone based) instead of goo gone and have some milky residue on my shadow.

Some other threads talk about Novus on smaller areas and then polish. Don, I'm not sure about those large streaks that we saw when we were working on it. I'm sure you tried alcohol too? I know we have to be careful with what we use on our thin Anovos ABS. May try it on a spare piece to see how it reacts to the black.

I'm going to be in the same boat as you when trying to get some of the rest of the E6000 overrun off that I don't get off using a guitar pick or thumbnail.

**EDIT**
I remembered, acetone is what will melt our ABS.
