Thanks, Rhonda. That means a lot coming from a former GML and someone who has their own personal Jawa :)
(They have 11 years to get their costumes up to par with Legion requirements. LOL!)

I got a set of Faux leather bandoliers thrown together last night. They should work until I can make more accurate ones from Leather. I also added some comfort foam and an extra strap for the top of their tiny heads so the mask stops sliding down. I had my mother-in-law help with gathering up the rear of the hoods. They were looking a little like capes in the back before, but that is fixed now. I am now adding the snaps to close the robe and hood.

This whole thing is going to be a test of their patience with being hot and mildly uncomfortable for the sake of fun, so we'll see how they do. :) They are very excited with the idea, but 7 year-old girls have a nasty way of changing their minds on an hourly basis. That said, comfort is paramount to this little project. I'll post more pics as soon as I can.

Sometimes baseball caps work really well as a spacer under the hood. I am still experimenting with getting the shape right.

I'm thinking the girls might outgrow those costumes in 11 years though, lol. ;) But with as skilled as you are at making costumes and props, I'm sure they will have no problem meeting the costume standards no matter what they might choose to join with. :)

Seeing your cute little jawa reminded me of some pictures that a Central Garrison member shared with me from when they had a bunch of little kids as jawas in their annual Labor Day parade from 2006. Here are a couple of pictures for you to enjoy:

I took a page out of Brandon's book and altered the eye color a bit. I think this is a closer match.

I also made some progress on the rest of the costume.

this particular one is going to a friend of mine (and many other garrison members)

That is a lot of slave Jawa workers that the Central Garrison gets. Man, we could build lots of E-Webs!
