Looking very, very good. I like how you've put the belt together - it's different from the other ways I've seen it done (and have done myself). Definitely let me know how it works during trooping. It will be nice to have another 327th clone in the garrison!

I was having trouble with the straps for my clone boots. I wanted the paint color to match but I could not get the paint to stick to the hyperfirm. So I decided to make a set out of HIPS. After cutting out several paterns I glued them all together and heated them to form them around the boot.

My next delema was the paint that I used on my armor would not dry on the boots that I made out of pleather. So my solution was this. First I went to my local dept. store and found a ribbon that matched my paint perfict and picked up some liquid stitch found in the same area as the ribbon. Then I glued it on and let it dry for 30min. I cut the excess off and problem solved. Here is how they turned out.





This is how they will look with the straps attached.





I will prime and paint the straps before I install them to the boot. Any imperfections will be hidden after weathering is done.

Ah, that's a good solution for the paint stripe on the shoes! I didn't have that problem with mine, but this is definitely something to keep in mind if/when I need to make another pair. I went a similar route that you did with the straps, except they are made from sentra instead of HIPS.

Is your belt from Sci-Fire, as well? I've seen that it can be difficult to get paint to stick to them. I have one of Steelblitz's belts, and went with a white Tulips fabric paint. It worked very well, haven't had any trouble with it cracking or peeling. I also was then able to simply paint the yellow-gold right over it for the two center "strips".

Yeh my belt is from STB as well. I was able to use a thined down Modle Masters white to paint the belt and then painted the center stripes with the same Modle Masters color I found to use on my armor. But the color stripes are cracking a bit. I may have to fix it soon.

that sucks about that general whats his name with the pauldrens. i guess that leaves foxbat as the other option?

Receieved the pauldron today.

Finishing up assembly on my clone build this week. I attached the d ring to the belt and after looking at it I decided to move it to the bottom of the ab plate. Attaching it to the belt makes it stick out to far off of the cod plate. In the photo ref. and screen grabs the d ring is just off of the cod plate.









I had the kama attached to the inside of the belt as well and after looking at it I have moved it to the ab and but plate. This allows easier dressing and undressing of the armour.

I attached the blaster holsters to the straps and reinforced them to keep them from swinging.





I relocated the d ring and then attached the blasters and straps to the belt with industrial strength velcro in order to be able to remove them for storing away.



I assembled the arm strap and amo box's and attached them to the bicep.



I also assembled the amo chest belt as well. I have not attached it as of yet.

The clone looks like it's coming along great! I noticed that you attached the commander's buckle to the back of the belt. I did that at first, as well, but I ran into problems with it coming off, both when I secured it with industrial Velcro and when I glued it directly. I ended up measuring where it needed to be relative to the armor and cut a slot into the cod piece, so now the buckle is permanently mounted in the armor instead of on the belt. Doing this also gave me a guide for exact placement of the belt each time I put it on. But hopefully you won't have the same trouble, as that mod was a bit of a pain to do.

I'm looking forward to having another Star Corps trooper in the garrison - we'll have to troop together sometime. Now if only we could convince somebody to build a Commander Bly...
