His Majesty King Henry IV of England

Post by cblackthorne »

Hello,

I just finished the work on my new SCA suit for an event this summer. The Kingdom of Calontir is having a week long event with the historical battles of the eight Henrys of England.

I was picked to portray Henry IV. This is my armor for my day of fighting.

The armor is mostly stainless steel with a few pieces of aluminum in certain places. Some of the armor pieces I made myself. The soft parts and plaque belt were all made by me.

Just wanted to share.....

Are any of those events going on around the KC area? I managed to make it to one event several years ago (Lillies War). My oldest brother fights in the SCA for the mid-realm...the one wearing the Comedian outfit at Comicon.

The Henry event is the theme for the Lillies War this year. :)

The event is held June 12 thru June 20 at Smithville Lake, just north of KC, near Kearney. If you want to stop by for a visit, I would be happy to give you directions to our campsite. My household would be happy to have you as our guest.

Regards,
Chris

Good ol' Lillies War...I do miss it so.
Haven't really swung a stick at someone in armor in a long time; last war I attended was mid-90s.
Once my knight Sir Ternon stopped going to things, I did too. Funny how that works.
