The Dark Knight - Batman 2008 and Beyond!
For all of you that live in a Batcave, here is a thread devoted to all info related to the upcoming Batman movie... THE DARK KNIGHT, opening 7/18/08. Share if you care...
The HISTORY CHANNEL is premiering a show called "Batman Unmasked: The Psychology of the Dark Knight" on Wednesday evening, July 16th, 9pm et. This looks interesting!
The description is: "Delve into the world of Batman and the vigilante justice that he brought to the city of Gotham. Batman is a man who, after experiencing great tragedy, devotes his life to an ideal--but what happens when one man takes on the evil underworld alone? Examine why Batman is who he is--and explore how a boy scarred by tragedy becomes a symbol of hope to everyone else."
Set your DVRs! They also rerun it about a dozen times.
I am personally excited about the new batman flick. The second movie in a series is always the best! (ESB, X2, Wrath of Kahn, Hulk, etc..) It is always good to get all the character set-up out of the way in the first film and jump right into a story in the sequel! Anyone in Spgd seeing the midnight?

The show last night was okay... I'm really excited about tomorrow!
Anyone else heard that there is a new Batman flick coming to theaters near you or do you live in a bat-cave?

Brandon, did you go to a midnight show?TK 3181 wrote:THIS MOVIE IS INCREDIBLE! Do yourself a favor and RUN, don't walk, to a theater now.
Crap! Grandma can't go today! I have to wait till Monday because I promised I'd see it with her. Is it good enough to see twice?
BTW: There is a buzz that Heath Ledger could be the first deceased actor to recieve a nomination for Oscar's Best Actor catagory... and win too!

I went to the midnight showing last night and all I can say is that
Heath Ledger will be missed. What a waist of good talent. His Joker is the Joker I remember reading in comic books as a kid especially in Batman issues #426-429, A Death in the Family. That's the Joker I saw last night.
Still hat's of to Jack Nicholson as the Joker in Batman the movie of 1989. Heath took that character and put it on acid!!

I finally saw it yesterday by myself... It was cute... and long! Right when you think that the plot line has been wrapped up... there is another good hour to go. I never got up for a smoke break so it must have been good.
The reason it was not dark... most of the sequences took place during the day. It was refreshing to see Batman/Bruce not being nocturnal like all of the other films.
I hope Heath gets an Oscar nomination. Although, I can't compare Jack, Ceaser, and Heath's preformance. They all did a good job. When you have such a strong character suck as the Joker, even PeeWee Herman would look good doing it.
I am looking forward to the sequels... It is a fun franchise to watch.

Didn't Peter Finch win in 1977 after he died for 1976's "Network"???
I guess Peter Finch received the nomination while he was alive, but died a little over a month before the Oscars.
Just checking...
