Welcome our 91st member Lance Courtney 501st clonetrooper
It is my pleasure to announce on behalf of the CO of the 70th Explorers Garrison that Lance Courtney has been approved with a great looking 501st Legion Clonetrooper. Please welcome CT-7525.
"CT-7525 follow Lord Vader to the temple and do what must be done..."
Now that the formality is out of the way...
Let me start out by saying that Lance and I go waaaay back. The fifth grade in fact. Well I was in fifth grade and Lance's brother, Shawn, and I were best friends. Lance was a few years younger than us. Shawn and I would be playing with Star Wars toys in the basement and here would come little Lance insisting on playing with us older, clearly cooler kids. Being so much cooler we wouldn't let him play and he would run screaming to his mom who would then come downstairs and yell at Shawn and I to let Lance play Star Wars with us. This went on for years. When Shawn and I were seniors and Lance was a freshman, Shawn and I were still in the basement but we had graduated to playing the Star Wars Role Playing Game. Lance still came downstairs, insisted on being the most powerfulest Jedi ever. We would refuse and try to explain that if he's all powerful then game balance would be thrown off and....and by that time he was upstairs tellibng on us again. Here would come Lance's mom and we were forced to let him play along. This went on until Lance discovered something called "girls". He was way ahead of his brother and I in that catagory(*unless you count scoring with hot Non-Player Character chicks).
In 1999, Shawn, Lance's brother passed away and Lance and I didn't see each other for years until a chance encounter at a restaurant and rekindled our friendship. It's now 25 years later and here we are again, I'm playing Star Wars with my friends and I'll be damnned if Lance doesn't show up wanting to play...I guess we better let him before he tells his mom on us again...some things never change!
Lance on a personal note to you let me say this: Your brother would not only have been proud of you, he would be jealous! That's some cool armor!

Congratulations, Lance. Seeing this armor in person, I know you and Ken put in a lot of hard work into it and it shows. Looking forward to trooping with you again in the near future!
Oh, and I bet you don't want to be an all-powerful Jedi anymore - it's more fun to be a bad guy.

Apparently there's some sort of high-toned and fancy to-do up at the fort, eh?
Welcome aboard, Lance. It's good to see you getting around to joining us.

welcome Lance, it was fun to see a new clone in the group and i had a great time last weekend trooping with you and all the others. did you ever get your fans to work again? equipment failures, they always seem to happen no matter how hard you try to be prepared!

Great looking armor!!!!! Its Ok we never grow up and we still play starwars.
If nothing sticks to teflon......then how does teflon stick to the pan?

Yes Ken (aka Kenny)and I go way back . Thanks to all for the help on my first troop . Kenny thanks for helping me with the armor and your wife April for putting up with me for the last 4 weekends . Kenny put in a full day playing dad then would turn around and put a full Saterday night in with me working on the armor . Sometimes we put in 12 hour days . It got crazy at times. But we were determined to get the armor done by free comic book day and we did . Thanks Kenny .
Thanks to all of the 70TH for making me feel welcomed and look forward to trooping with you all.
