I know there are several sites out there to order Ben Nye Theatrical Makeup and all offer different prices, etc, however I'm interested to know if any of you have a good site you have ordered from that is better than another.
Also, for those of you who have used this type of makeup...what is your experience with it?
Thanks, gang.

Re: Ben Nye Theatrical Makeup Question
as long as you use it right I've never had any problems with it. apply it, powder it, take it off with coldcream. I even saw a great tutorial to cover tattoos with it and you couldn't even tell. just make sure you take it off completely otherwise acne becomes a big problem. watch it around collars, it rubs off a lot.

Re: Ben Nye Theatrical Makeup Question
Thanks, Steve. I'm working on new adventures and hopefully this stuff is going to work out for my needs. I just need to make sure I get a good setting powder in place to keep the stuff from rubbing off.
I've run a few test rounds with some of my goodies and I'll be reporting in with my findings and recommendations.

Re: Ben Nye Theatrical Makeup Question
try this stuff http://www.occmakeup.com/ alcohol based, i haven't tried the water based, it wouldn't sweat off and it won't feel like you have a mask on and is rub resistant, plus you won't look like you have dandruff from the setting powder.

Re: Ben Nye Theatrical Makeup Question
what to use depends on how long you will be in it. http://www.reelcreations.com/ is where i got my first alcohol based makeup, they are more expensive than occ and it is the same stuff so my next order will be from occ, reelcreations have used alcohol makeup in a lot of movies, they have a portfolio of their work including Blade's tatoo's. they told me alcohol based makeup can last days.

Re: Ben Nye Theatrical Makeup Question
I usually use Ben Nye...but just because I can get it locally. I LOVE the alcohol based make-ups, but really hate ordering stuff. I don't usually stay in my stuff more than a few hours, so most anything works.
I use an adhesive remover to get rid of make-up. Telesis Super Solv is some really great stuff. Sprays on. Dissolves adhesives and make-up almost immediately. Best of all, it doesn't irritate my skin like most removers. Seems to have a lot of witch hazel in it as well as some moisturizers. Feels a little oily going on, but cleans right off with no burning or irritations. I got mine from FX Warehouse.
