Cylon Centurion from Battlestar Galactica
Hello,
I have been working on a Cylon Centurion costume from the original series of Battlestar Galactica.
I have finished building the armor pieces and painting them. Next I have to make the bodysuit and install the electronics for the moving eye and voice synthesizer.
Here are some pictures for your viewing pleasure:

I love it. Is that Rub and Buff or some other type of paint?

Its chrome paint from VHT. I didn't want to spend $1000 on vaccuum metalizing for a costume I may only wear a few times a year.TK 3181 wrote:I love it. Is that Rub and Buff or some other type of paint?

Thanks Chris H.!judge_hellfast wrote:That is looking fantastic! Are you going to go all out with voice mods, etc?
Im going to use the same set-up I use for my Darth Vader. I have an MP3 player with the "eye warble" sound that feeds into a Vortex 2 sound board with the Cylon voice effect. I havent decided how to mount the sound equipment yet.
Im working on the moving eye electronics as well.
Im hoping to have it finished by Halloween.
Regards,
Chris

Did you overcoat it with anything (i.e. gloss, etc) ? I've been looking for other alternatives for paints for ya.cblackthorne wrote:Its chrome paint from VHT. Unfortunately, with all the chrome paints you can't clear coat them. The second the clear coat hits the paint, it turns it a dull gray.judge_hellfast wrote:Did you overcoat it with anything (i.e. gloss, etc) ? The next alternative is the Alsa Chrome paint, which runs $125 a can and gives a very good likeness to vaccuum metalizing.
Thanks for looking!

Chris

Actually Alsacorp is offering their killer chrome set for 115 that's the black base, the mirra clear & the chrome. I also saw somewhere that they were having a special on their killer cans where you get 2 for 1
