I have also been working on an updated tutorial for the costume. You can find the tutorial inside the thread mentioned above. I hope this helps others who are doing this costume.

It looks like things are coming along well. Very nice job. I'm sure the tutorial will be very helpful as well.
There is also an excellent imperial officer costume website done by one of the members of the 501st, located here:

These two websites should help anyone doing this costume.

I had questions about the silver stud/snap on the belt. I have looked at lots (and lots and lots) of pictures of the officers. Some have the snap some don't. Other have it and it looks to be quite large almost 1/2 an inch. I was wondering what it was and if anybody had pictures of it up close. I have also seen it on both the left and right side of the buckle. Is this due to film flipping? If not what is the correct way?

Now that I am done with my imperial officer costume I have started working on some new costuming projects (my current project is a pyrotechnic device for a friends Fett gauntlets). Most friday nights are costuming nights at my house. You bring your own projects (your own tools if you need something special) and we all get ideas on how things work/look from each other. Sometimes there is just 2 of us sometimes more. You all are invited if you would like to bring a project and work on it.
I only ask that you email/pm/msg me the day before so I can obtain enough drinks and snacks for the group (I will also send you the directions at that time).

Actually it was simple, I drilled out my back built in snap and replaced it with a screw together stud from ace hardware. I bought like 4 of them so if you will message me I will bring one to the next event we are at together (I think I bought them for 68 cents a piece). I had a friend of mine cut a notch into the belt while I was wearing it. It takes a true friend to cut leather while you are wearing it. It does a good job of holding the belt together and makes for a tigher look.
