Mouse Droid

Post by Cmndr Falken »

I am looking for suggestions on how to ornament my mouse droid. Here is how it looks now.

That looks cool. What did you use for the body and what lind of car was it? :)

I want to build one and I am still trying to figure out what to use for all the parts.

I based mine off of a Tamaya Ford f-150 stadium truck. The mouse droid top is made of hardboard (the kind of stuff you would use for the back wall of a toy box). It still needs some accessories for the top and a new paint job. I would be happy to help you on the contruction of yours if you want help. I know just being able to look at something physically makes a big difference. Yes it does really move and drive well .....admittedly it doesn't corner as well with the heavier mouse droid top on it.

Let me know if you would like to see it sometime and I can bring it to an event. Its probably going to be a while till I get my officers uniform completed though.

Project update. I recarved the wheel wells so that it doesn't pop wheelies in reverse. Put two coats of new black paint onto it. I am going to work on the side and top pieces over the next week. I hope to have everything completed on it by Visioncon.

I am working this week on trying to get my mouse droid in good working order. I also hope to be adding (ok I am already adding) some suprises to the mouse droid. I have already added my pinhole spycam to the front of the droid. I am going to buy a usb video capture card for my notebook that I am going to bring. As long as we have power at our table I will be able to drive the droid and have its "mouse droid cam" show on my laptop. With a little creativity I might even put it up as a refreshing image on my website. This should be a fun project.

Its not really built like that anyway.... It would have to be the ankle and shin voyeur cam. The only way you could see up a skirt would be if somebody were sitting down in a chair or bent down and exposed themselves to the droid. I will do some tests before hand and make sure that its not at an angle that would look up skirts. I can always reposition the camera onto the top of the droid and have it face directly forward if people think this will become an issue.

BTW its great fun to drive by video. I have chased the kids around the house for hours. Besides we can't spend ALL day posing for pictures and this will give people sitting at the table something fun to do.
