I would say there will be two big problems -- there will be NO hotels available and restaurants will have long wait times. This is a huge deal in Columbia with the parade being only a very small part of the entire week.
Saying that, if I can I will be there.

is this still possibility? i work at ucmo but i live in sedalia, i might be available if you don't mention where people work....... there is sort of bad blood between the two colleges over centrals name change, it would be bad to have tomatoes thrown at a vader. from sl4290[/img]

lol. Don't worry about that. As long as you don't say anything no one will know.
I went to CMSU....er UCMO...Or whatever it is called now and have no real affiliation with MU except for living near and working in Columbia.

I'd have to say that Faron and I are definitely interested. As far to drive as springfield is for us. Depending on what we need in costume will dictate what I come as.

I don't think there will be any tomato throwing at Vader...though that WOULD make you look like the Target "Lava Vader" action figure, Tim :"-)
Things are starting to move on the organizational front, I hope to know more about the possiblities re: the parade soon!

Yea! I'm glad to see all the interest! Like Christina, I'm a little worried about traffic/crowds/places to stay/etc. with all the alumni that will be in town. But hopefully John and Brandon and I can work some magic and make this a great event!

Yeah, I think there shouldn't be too much problem w/ lodging! I know it's a crowded weekend, but Columbia has built up so many hotels/motels just in the last couple of years that there are many more rooms. Plus, as I mentioned, we can have a number of folks crash at our space on the spare bed, floorspace, etc.

Well, I just got my latest issue of my MU Alumni magazine, and was happy when I saw their big spread on the homecoming activities. The problem?? They still haven't listed the kriffing start time for the parade!!! It just says "TBA." AARRRGHGHGHH!

I might have to miss this one due to me going to quite a few events this month. My wife said something to me like, " You and Star Wars blah, blah, blah, blah."
I pretty much missed what she said after Star Wars, but I'm sure it was important to her, therefore it probably is important to me.
