So January 18th is the Release Date for Fanboys



If you haven't read/heard/seen the sneak peeks from Celebration IV. Go check it out! It's going to be awesome!

I know that the local Kansas City FanForce is planning an event/events around the release of this movie, and Rebel Legion is planning on attending in full 'force' for this release.

Do we have anything planned for this event?

I'm aware that the elections for CO will either be going on / finished around this time.

I know several people have talked about getting a group together to go see the movie. That could be a great time.

And even though the elections start on February 1, 2008, the elections don't stop garrison activities. We still do events while that is going on.

But I agree that this could be a lot of fun.

Robert and I have already set up an event at our local theatre back in Feb. of 2007. Our theatre is all excited about us trooping and taking tickets from people going to see the movie.

Of course I known about the movie since 2006 and spoke with the theatre in Jan. of 2007 about doing an event with them.

I can certainly try to set something up here in KC. As long as people don't mind me making some phone calls?

I certainly think this would also be a good chance to invite our RL brethren to this event if it can be setup.

Made a few calls so far

Talked with Ashley at Barry Woods...she informed me that all the local AMC theaters will not be able to be sure that they are even showing the movie until a couple of weeks before the release date.

Talked with Dave at viliage west 14 he talked to his corporate office. They could not confirm that he was or wasn't getting the movie. He said to contact him in a few weeks.

Thanks for making the calls Tony! I'm not suggesting that *I* specifically run an event. I just wanted to see if anyone was going/doing anything with any local theaters for this. I think it would be a lot of fun if we all could get together and do something. I'll keep watching this thread for any more news.

My pal at the Eastglen 16 in Lee's Summit says that we are ALWAYS welcome.

I don't have a preference and if you have contacts feel free to set it up. Everybody I talked to so far doesn't even know they will get the movie for certain.

There are rumblings that this may be pushed back to March. They reshot several scenes up in LA/Pasadena this past Sat/Sun/Mon& Tuesday. Some members of the So Cal Garrison provided costumes and props for the reshoots, and were allowed on set.

So we will have to wait and see...

The latest rumblings are it might not be released until June:

I'm not going to believe any of that until it's official. They've already pushed it back once, so that now if it releases on 1/18/08 like they say, it will already compete with Cloverfield.

I'll keep that weekend open anyways, just in case. OH, and I'll ask my friend who's a GM for a major theater here in KC what he's heard about pushing back the release date.

This poor movie has been pushed back more than once. It's first release was going to be February of 2007.
