It woke my family up. At first I thought it was just me but then my son came out of his room asking what happened so then I knew I was not the only one that felt it.

really? huh, either I'm a heavy/dead sleeper or it was nowhere near the springfield area. just hope it wasn't the sign of what's to come for the new madrid faultline.
edit: nope, just me being a heavy sleeper cause ky3.com reports it locally. that's kinda scary

I was awakened at 4:40 a.m. from a very sound sleep for some reason. I don't remember feeling or hearing anything though but maybe we did get a bit of the quake shockwave here too.

Another quake hit around 10:15. I was on a conference call with some Missouri folks when it happened. I think this quake is coming after Dru for all the rotten things he has said about Kansas. It's reckoning day, Dru. That's right! It's coming after YOU!

I felt nothing, but we have A LOT of limestone surrounding the Ozarks plateau. I hope no one had any damage from it.

Maybe being in the corner of Missouri isn't so bad after all.

It woke me up out of bed. I am not sure if it was my computer sub-woofer or what but it was really rumbling. The duration of this quake was rally surprising, after seeing the seismograph of it on TV, the ampititude of the quake was steady for a long time. It was not like what you normally see on TV with the sudden massive quake that tampers off. Those of you who have shallower soil depths to bed rock were less likely to feel anything. The thicker the soil deposits the greater the shaking will be transfered to structures. That is one reason why out west you will see different levels of damage in cities like LA and San Francisco. Some of the cities are built on or close to bedrock, while others are built on fill material. When an earthquake hits there the fill material basically turns to quicksand. Sorry, that was Geological Engineering kicking in.

I'm like Brandon. Didn't fell a thing. I'm also a light sleeper though. I also agree, all the lime stone in this area helps dampen the effects. The only problem though is if it is a large quake, that won't even help. I don't want to deal with any earth quake damage. The flooding has been enough.

My wife and I woke up around 4:30 ish and didn't know why. Even our pugs were still asleep. We didn't realize about the quake until lunch time.
Anyone know when the last quake hit this area?
