Woo hoo! The new American Idol winner is from Blue Springs!

I don't know if anyone besides me watches the show any more but a guy from the city I live in won American Idol tonight - David Cook. My daughter Ashley and I went to his hometown concert on May 9th and David was just the nicest guy - so very gracious and humble. He also has a great voice. I just thought I would post the happy news.

I'm glad David Cook won. I couldn't stand the other guy. I knew Cook would win from the very start. Now I have bragging rights.

We voted for him. I def. preferred "Cook-ie" over "An-chilada"

We got to see him at the Royals game. His winning is the biggest thing for KC nationally since '85 (KU doesn't count because well, KU doesn't count). I actually choose a David Cook t-shirt over anything Lucas to wear to the Indy midnight show last night.
