Took my halftrack out for a drive last Sunday

Post by Dinadin TK-5972 »

Last Sunday I took my halftrack out for a drive through the woods. I am driving and my friend is video tapping. The video may not be that exciting, but it was fun to take it out for a spin and I felt like sharing.

Post by timbremer »

for some reason i have always wanted one of those, i think it was the thought of not ever having a problem with parking it or having someone cut you off! i watch every ebay auction to see how much they go for.
Peace is a lie; there is only passion.
Through passion, I gain strength.
Through strength, I gain power.
Through power, I gain victory.
Through victory, my chains are broken.

Opps sorry about that.

If you are really interested in one, let me know. Since I got my first one I have been finding out about several other ones. For one in need of restoration, cab forward you are looking at 4K to 5k, complete but needs work for about 20k, to fully restored for 25k to 30k.

There are two DUKWs for sale on Ebay now. There use to be at least one in Rolla, but that is long gone now. I am pretty sure there are a few in the Lake of Ozarks area, but I think they are used for tours and such.

What I need is a King Tiger. The best would be a fully functional AT-AT, but it would have to do for now.

Yeah I just got into re-enacting this year and just joined the 14th Armored. I am hoping to bring it to the St. Louis Veteran's Day Parade and then again to WWII weekend at Jefferson Barracks at the end of March. Yes it is a M3 hafltrack built in February of 1942. At some point converted to a M3A1 and then to an M16.

No and Yes....

Originially it was built as an M3, pretty much as you see it in the video. But at some point it was converted to an M3A1 configuration, with the pulpit over the passenger seat. Then, probably in the 1950s, it was convert to a M16. When I got it, the racks for the spare .50 barrels and ammo box holders were still in place and still are. So at one time yes it was the M16 version, but I don't think I will build it back to that version.
