The Empire helps the Springfield Cardinals

On August 19th, 2009 - the proud members of Squad 66 of the 501st Legion stormed the field of the Springfield Cardinals home game against the San Antonio Missions. The crowd roared as Darth Vader threw out the first pitch and knighted Louie, the cardinals' mascot, an honorary jedi knight. In attendence were 4 jawas, 5 stormtroopers, 4 techs, a tusken, Mara Jade, Anakin, and more, including the dark Lord Vader himself. Troops marched on the field, played musical chairs, and kept the peace on the main walk. The 501st was honored with a $3100 donation to the Lymphoma Society and have been invited to return for a future game.
