70th Explorers Garrison: Forums

On January 22nd 2010, Members of The 70th Explorers Garrison, Gateway Squad, and Squad 66 arrived at the Clarion Hotel and Convention Center in Springfield, MO for VisionCon 2010. The troops conducted a Jail & Bail, Shoot-A-Trooper, donated members for the slave auction, Orchestrated a Costuming Demonstration, searched for potential members, and enjoyed the General mayhem and chaos that is VisionCon. In attendance were such characters as Darth Vader, Stormtroopers, Tusken Raiders, Jawas, a Scout trooper, Imperial Crewmen, Shadow troopers, Imperial officers, a Snowtrooper, and a sithlord or two, among others. The troops were entertained by a rock band called The Browncoats, a Pirate band known as the Sea Dogs, Willie's Wenches, Belly Dancers, Elvish Drummers, Movies, Music, and Dancing. We raised $270 dollars for Charity and had a great time doing it. Though we were forced to say goodbye to Squad 66's unofficial mascot, Emma Grace of Willie's Wenches, it did not put a damper on the festivities as Squad 66 gained it's first Honorary Squad member, Gypsy Rose Blancharde. There was not a dry eye in the crowd at the closing ceremonies as the little girl with such a big heart gave her momentous acceptance speech. We had a great time and hope to see more of you again next year.
