Hi there Sarah. As the membership officer of the 70th Explorers Garrison, I'll be the one to process/approve your application once you have a completed costume. As far as tips on the Aurra Sing costume, I would recommend going to the 501st Legion bounty hunter detachment forums, located here:

http://phoenixsquadron.com/forum/index.php

The Commanding Officer of the detachment has an excellent Aurra Sing costume and I would consider her to be an expert in it. Her forum name is bathory. Please let me know if you have any other questions or need assistance. My e-mail is DarthBarbieDoll@gmail.com.

I would love to see pics of your Aurra Sing gear. Way too cool!!!

I'll also add the link Rhonda(DarthBarbieDoll) gave in the armor resource thread found here:

Hey thanks for responding! I spent last year working on two jedi costumes (not for me) and so this year I'm all about me! This costume is hard, but I think in the end all the hard work will be worth it. Thanks for the references, I'll be sure to use them and I'll keep you updated with my progress. It just takes a lot of time and money, as I'm sure you all know.

Thanks again.

I would say yeah on needing the big rifle. Take your pics to get accepted, and then at cons and such, it's your choice if you want to carry it around. I have seen both.

Update: I've ordered the unitard and I'm looking for boots. I've got a lead on some pistols, so we'll see how that works out. I swear I'm going to be trooping with you peeps before Halloween! :D

I do believe KBfett, has a few extra unitard's laying around.

He wears them for his one man act, kinda like in "The big Lebowski".
He loves to dance.
