Hey everyone, my name is Ben. I'm a huge Star Wars fan and have been interested in the 501st since my first Planet Comicon 6 pr 7 years ago. I have a habit of starting way too many projects before I finish one (I've got 3 or 4 SW costumes that are relatively far along now, but have been going for quite a while) so I've never really gotten in touch with the local groups since I was never particularly close to being able to apply. While I do have a Kylo that I'm very proud of and which is pretty close to done, I wound up using slightly different fabrics for the scarf/hood and the main robe. As such, I don't think it'll be approvable, sadly. However, I've finally settled on one to finish in a timely manner and (hopefully) up to legion standards: Krennic.
I started on his tunic over my thanksgiving break and I think it's going pretty well. I do have a WIP up on the IOC boards, but I figured I'd pop in here to introduce myself to the people I'll actually be trooping with someday. But enough rambling for now. Here's the bit of work I've done so far.
First, my rough mock up. Not the most flattering pics, but it was useful in working out the shape and size of my pieces:
And here's the tunic I've started to make out of gabardine. The front panel is a bit wonky here because it's too wide and things are just pinned together, but I like how the rest of it is shaping up.
And the only other bit I have so far is the set of rank bars I made:
Thanks for checking out my thread, and hopefully I'll have a lot more progress to share in about 2 weeks when I'm done with my fall semester.
