Officers Rank

Hello,

Im working on an officer's uniform for my wife.

Are there any rules or regulations regarding what rank I can put on her costume?

I apologize is this sounds like a silly question, but neither I nor my wife want to offend anyone if she shows up with a rank that is reserved for garrison officers.

Regards,

You can make any rank you want to. Just make sure that your rank goes with what ever color you decide to make the uniform. If you have any other officer questions you can also join us in the forums of the Imperial Officer Corps. :officer:

Thanks Curt.

I was going to make a black officers uniform for her and use a commander rank. Would that work?

That would be fine. The rank badge would be three blue and two yellow with one code cylinders on each side.

Yeah! another officer costume. I just made mine a while back. How far are you into the costume I did a tutorial a while back that will help you out if you are just getting started.

I think I have read pretty much all the tutorials on this web site and others. They were all very good and provided alot of useful information.

I found a McCalls pattern that will work with some minor modifications. The pattern only comes in men's sizes, so for my wife I will have to do some adjusting down.

I found a decent pattern for the hat, but I think I can modify it to have an adjustable size, kind of like a baseball cap. That way my wife can wear her hair in a variety of ways without needing a new hat. :)

I will probably be making a officer's uniform for myself afterwards.

I have also ordered the rank insignia, code cylinders, and hat insignias so I think I have everything covered so far.

My wife is offereing to act as a handler/spotter for the armored trooppers at VisionCon, so I really need to get her uniform finished before then.

Is there a checklist somewhere of the 501st requirements for an officers uniform?

tie pilots are imperial navy and wear the grey officers uniforms when out of flight gear. there are many examples of this in the comics especially the ones featuring Baron Fel.

you might want to see the construction of the hat ...frankly it doesnt lend it self to being adjustable. I have seen some people incorporate some elastic in the back but be careful because it bunches.
