As many of you already know Jeanette and I are starting a costume for her. While Visas Marr is not currently an approved costume I am shooting to set the standard with her costume (yes I know a lofty goal).

Here is the photos of the contruction materials and the faux leather dying technique we plan on using on the outer tunic. Also you will see some of the patterns we are planning on using for construction.

If you are unfamiliar with the costume you can see the pictures from the flagship eclipse detachment

I welcome any comments as Nettie and I go through this process. We hope to get the patterns we ordered soon and actual begin contruction. I am estimating that it will take us a few months to complete the costume.

I think that is an awesome costume and I wish you the best of luck. No goal is to high to shoot for.

What this means is you will have to keep us informed with lots of pics of the progress!!!!

Oh, and Jeanette will need to learn to operate without seeing. :D

Seriously, how are the two of you going to work out the eye cover so she can still see enough to walk and enjoy things?

We are going to back the lace of the head dress with a shear fabric and she will be looking through the holes in the lace. She may wear dark makeup on the under portion of her eyes to further the goughed out look. The headdress and the leather outer tunic seem to be sticking points for the costume.

I am also going to make her a custom LED saber for it.

We will be posting progress pics as we go along.

I just looked the camera does nothing for the main dress and sash material colors. They are both a burgundy/wine color the velveteen for the main part verging almost on purple.

Most excellent! I finished my Visas a couple months ago and wore it to the St. Patty's Day Parade in Springfield. I like your wife's headpiece a lot better than mine--I may have to redo it. I'm also glad she went with the wide sleeves instead of the gathered--I hate the gathered look. :D I'd post a pic of mine, but I don't have a full posed shot done yet...maybe this weekend!

I think that will end up going to the LMO because it's EU. And then probably the Council too because it's a new costume for the Legion.

Curt's exactly right. All EU costumes on the CRL must be submitted to the GML like usual, who then posts the information to the LMO to review. Costumes accepted for membership appear on the CRL (Costume Reference Library) located here:

http://www.501st.com/crl/index.php

Any costume not on the list has to be sent to Thomas Spanos, the LMO, who then takes all of your submitted pictures along with reference pictures and your provided list of costume component parts (with types of material used, etc.) and presents the new character application to the Council who then votes to decide if the costume should be added to the CRL.

According Wendy Wassmer:
The thoughts between myself and the LMO in regards to KOTOR/KOTOR II costumes has been to follow the canon game images. Concept art, if altered from the final game image, should not come into play.

Right now this character has three LFL references, I would strongly suggest this is the image you stick to in creating this character:

- KOTOR II (before she joins the Exile's party)

- SW RPG Mini Figure

- Appearance in comic book Star Wars Tales #24: Unseen, Unheard

This may be a sticking point for you as the loose flowing sleeves and the the suede look of the outer tunic might be problems the game character's sleeves taper to the wrist. Also I was under the impression that the game images have her headdress constructed of two pieces of material a head wrap then an over wrap.....not trying to blast you its one of the better Visas Marr costumes I have seen so far and looks really good. Of course they said the game images would be canon for darth nihilus but then his robes being tattered are correct so who knows. Try it and see what they say. I would rather have clear goals to shoot for than vague ones.

You may want to check out the flagship eclipse board there are a few threads on it that have some good ideas as to the costume construction.
