SUMMARY:Star Wars Night @ Wichita Wind Surge &#039\;26
DESCRIPTION:Hello friends in Kansas!\n\nThe Wichita Wind Surge are offering
an open invitation to costumed fan groups to attend their event on June 1
3\, 2025. This is approved by Lucasfilm. The contact information and detai
ls for the event are listed below. Please feel free to share this broadly
with your clubs!\n\nDirectly below is what we send to the Teams regarding
Open Invites for Fan Group participation at sports games:\n\nAll SW themed
events with Major and Minor league teams are now considered OPEN INVITES.
This means we do not have to cast and teams do not have to pay performers
. Teams must welcome all fan groups on a first come basis and cannot ask f
or specific characters or specific amounts. They can set a maximum limit b
ased on accommodations. Open Invites are just that: an invitation to fan g
roups to show up at an event in costume. Teams cannot direct fan group mem
bers to do any activities or be anywhere specific at any specific time - t
hey may provide the groups with a list of activities to self-organize and
participate in\, but it is at fan group members&rsquo\; own discretion. We
strongly prefer that characters not throw out first pitches\, participate
in puck drops\, sing the National Anthem or things of that nature &ndash\
; if they want\, fan group members may escort a child or fan to the mound\
, etc.\, but must not be directed to do so. Characters should not hold\, w
ear\, sit in or stand on any branded item or logo\, especially with a team
emblem. The fan groups are welcome to be photographed with others wearing
the team logo/brands or in front of signage featuring the team logo/brand
\, however. We strongly suggest that teams provide a handler/security for
costumed fans during activities to ensure the safety and security of said
costumed fans\, to protect them from overzealous game attendees. Costumed
fan groups must be referred to as members from their respective fan groups
\, and not as official SW/Disney/Lucasfilm characters.\n\nPlease note that
if you or your club members require a handler or handlers at the event\,
you must provide them yourself and not rely on handlers from other clubs t
o fulfill this responsibility.\n\nPlease do not RSVP with LFL. The corresp
onding team contact is listed below if you and your members are interested
. Spots fill up fast - not all fan groups will get to participate in event
s where there is a set limit\, which are based on a teams&rsquo\; bandwidt
 h for accommodation.\n\nFan Groups invited to attend:\n501st Legion- 70th

SUMMARY:Kansas City Walk for Apraxia
DESCRIPTION:The walk for apraxia raises money for Apraxia Kids\, a 501(c)(3
)\, that raises awareness of childhood apraxia of speech (a motor speech d
isorder) and supports children with apraxia and their families. The walk i
s also an opportunity for these children and their families to meet others
like them and develop a sense of belonging and support one another. Most
of these children have never met anyone else with apraxia prior to the wal
 k. The walk is more of an event than a formal walk although there is a sho
rt informal walk that the families do together. The entire event lasts fr
om 9-11:30 or 12 but the activities part is from 9-10:30 with the ceremony
at 10:30\, so if characters could be there from 9-10 or 10:30 that&rsquo\
;d be great. Your organization sent two characters last year and it was fa
ntastic - the kids loved it. Thank you!!
