Ok, so do I need the 7 ft tall rifle to be accepted into the 501st and if I do, can anyone point me in the right direction for acquiring/building one?

Hi there Sarah. As the membership officer of the 70th Explorers Garrison, I'll be the one to process/approve your application once you have a completed costume. As far as tips on the Aurra Sing costume, I would recommend going to the 501st Legion bounty hunter detachment forums, located here:

Hey thanks for responding! I spent last year working on two jedi costumes (not for me) and so this year I'm all about me! This costume is hard, but I think in the end all the hard work will be worth it. Thanks for the references, I'll be sure to use them and I'll keep you updated with my progress. It just takes a lot of time and money, as I'm sure you all know.
