As some of you know I have been working on a Tusken for the last 5 years. I have had all the stuff and had my first mask done for about 2 years now. I made it a goal to finish this for CV and take it with me for the big group picture.
So I have a question for all the Tuskens out there...
How much material did you use for the outer robe? I finished the inner robe but in order to make the outer robe with just one seam, it looks like I'll need about nine yards for the outer robe. That just seems like a lot.

um... 4 I think? only seams are down the sides. 60"fabric run along my arm span, just a little short but it's not noticeable.

WOW! You are lazy Curt!
It has only taken me three years to get Mr. Freeze rolling at an acceptable rate of completion.

It's been awhile. That's the problem with the whole CO or XO gig. It eats your free time.
And the problem with monks cloth is that it shrinks so bad that it may start at 60" wide but after you wash it, not so much. So in order to get the width and length I need, I have to sew to sections together doubling the anount of material. That's why I was asking because I read that you can have a seam but I wanted to ask just the same.

Robes are done. May have to trim the bottom of the outer robe.
As far as the sleves go, I have seen outer robes that have what look like actual sleeves and I have seen outer robes where the sleeves look like they go all the way to the floor. Which way has everyone else done?

My weapon of choice for this little project.
Before:
After:
Still have some work to do on it but at least it's a start. I have weathered the leather and I may add some duckcloth over the curved end.

That's the plan. I'm taking the pics today and hopefully it gets approved before I leave for CV.

The highlights and dark tones work nicely together. Nicely done.
